Reflection and Connection # 4

I am very surprised to the fact that Sophie’s mother would let her go meet with Alberto, without even meeting him. Also why would she let her go after she called and found out that the city has no record of a person named Alberto Knox. If I was Sophie I would invite Alberto to my house. Also Alberto is a pretty descent teacher, but he could be better.  All he does is lecture Sophie he doesn’t give her any homework, projects, or quizzes. It’s nice to listen to long, lectures, but is Sophie actually retaining this stuff. I also want to know where Alberto came from, and why he has so much interest in Sophie, and Hilde.

After my further readings into Sophie’s World I began asking myself some questions. Why would people follow philosophers if there were human? Man is known for his vice, and his follies. But why do some people follow philosophers almost religiously.  I know that not everybody believes in God, but I would match rather follow someone or something that is above man. I know that Greek teaching had a huge effect on the world, but in what other ways is philosophy important. Also I want to know read the philosophy and Batman book to see how philosophy affects the Dark Knight. The first day of phislophy class scared me, but knows I fell my compelled to talk in class, and ask questions. I am happy that I took philosophy because it has changed my view on certain things.
